Wool is a natural textile fiber and it is obtained from sheep’s fleece as well as rabbits and Camelids.
There is written and archeological evidence about usage of wool since the Prehistoric age. The first archeological evidence of wool dates to 1800 B.C., although; according to some studies, in Mesopotamia, wool was used since the 3000 B.C
The industry of wool was flourishing in Europe during the Middle-Ages, until the migrations of Barbars. In fact, they damaged the farms and consequently its development.
Italians, during the IXI century, created the corporations of wool’s art that were dealing with exchange and sale of goods.
